Solubility Practically insoluble in water, Sparingly soluble in either, slightly soluble in ethanol (96%)
Identification
A) the infrared absorption spectrum, Appendix II A, is concordant with the reference spectrum of nitroxynil.
B) The light absorption, Appendix IIB, in th4e range 220 to 350nm of a 0.002% w/v solution in 0.01M sodium.
C) Heat with sulpheric acid; Iodine vapour is evolved
